Salem County, NJ is a rural community whose existing network solutions didn’t match the high-speed, high-demand needs of County government and Public Safety operations. Its concern for Public Safety is intense as it is a host community of a waterfront nuclear power plant.
Conxx deployed an extensive data communications network to connect critical infrastructure with high reliability and very high speeds. Lower Alloways Creek Township in Salem County is home to the PSE&G Nuclear facility which is the second-largest US nuclear power facility.
Working under a Homeland Security grant, Conxx designed a multi-camera, high definition surveillance system. This required a very high-performance wireless backbone around the plant, across wetlands, and through dense tree stands. Conxx also installed a license plate reader for police in Lower Alloways Creek Township and Elsinboro Township. Conxx partnered with Salem County to design and build a private data communications network, providing a cost-effective, critical infrastructure to the community. With a combination of solutions, including licensed microwaves, fiber optics, and OFDM last-mile technologies, the major data needs of the County were handled with the ease and speed required.
